Tropical storm hitting Nunavut. Near death adventure. Arctic escape leading to an escape from the arctic – you’ve been voted off the island. Home to revisit my youth. San Francisco to see that little family growing. Summer school? Beach days, classes in a daze. Beautiful British Columbia, family, forgiveness. Old friends in Ontario, old friends in new places. Halifax. Nova Scotia. Home again. The particular pain of failing your driver’s test at 25. The start of something? Debt collection. Fall. That heated blanket. Records. Board games. Solitary. Beach walks. Sea glass. Surfing. Los Angles. I’m not sure that anyone has told me I looked happy? Christmas again. Strike another match, farewell 2014. 2015 though, who knows.

catching up to who you are
There was a full moon last night, I
couldn’t sleep so I talked to the moon,
instead of you.
It’s always been a fixed point
like “change is the only constant”
pulling oceans along with it.
she said, you’re pretty fast after a few
drinks
yah, I’m great at running away from
myself, it’s more of a marathon really
than a sprint.
But I am trying, to
stand still
catch up with myself.
